In view of the ongoing complex and challenging situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, and to ensure the maximization of benefits for exhibitors and customers, bauma CHINA 2022 (Shanghai International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles, and Equipment), originally scheduled for November 22-25, 2022, in Shanghai, has been postponed to November 26-29, 2024, at the same venue.
Ms. Xu Jia, General Manager of Messe München Shanghai Co., Ltd., the organizer of the event, stated: "The key prerequisite for hosting a large international exhibition like bauma CHINA is certainty, to ensure that the exhibition meets the expected quality and results. Given the current circumstances, there is significant uncertainty regarding the feasibility of holding the event as planned and achieving the expected outcomes. In a responsible approach to avoid potential financial losses for exhibitors and customers due to last-minute postponements, we have made the decision to inform exhibitors promptly at this stage. While this is a regrettable decision, we remain confident in the future of the Chinese market. We hope that all friends and partners who care about and support bauma CHINA will work together from now on to make bauma CHINA 2024 a success. We believe that we will gather again in Shanghai to showcase the innovative achievements of exhibitors, engage in deep exchanges, and expand cooperation."
The Chinese co-organizers unanimously agree that Messe München's decision takes into full consideration the interests of all exhibitors. The decision, although challenging, is seen as a wise move by all parties involved. The Chinese co-organizers will assist Messe München in the follow-up work related to the postponement.
bauma CHINA was first jointly organized by Messe München Group, China Construction Machinery Industry Association, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Machinery Industry Branch, and Sinomach Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. in 2002 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Over the past 20 years, the exhibition has grown into a professional event with over 330,000 square meters of exhibition space, more than 3,000 exhibitors, and over 200,000 visitors. It has become a significant gathering and communication platform for the construction machinery industry in China and the Asia-Pacific region. The 20 years of "time" and the 330,000 square meters of "space" have witnessed the rapid development of China's construction machinery industry.
